Pica Pau

Lovely beef marinated with the beer, garlic and other aromatic spices to bring a delicious flavor to your taste. The sauce is the main part of this snack (Petisco) as well as sliced beef. It is amazingly flavorful and I strongly recommend you to try it?

Cooking time 10 to 15 minutes after prepared the all ingredients and marinated beef

Ingredients
To marinate the Beef 30 minutes to 2 hours

  • 400g of sliced strips beef

  • 150ml normal beer (or white wine)

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 cloves of garlic minced

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil

  • Piri piri at your taste (optional)

  • 1/3 tsp paparica (optional)

  • Thyme optional

  • Salt at your taste

 

To cook

  • 2 tbsp of olive oil or other type of oil

  • 3 tbsp of butter with or without salt

  • 3 cloves of crushed garlic

  • 150ml of water to make more sauce (optional)

  • 50g of pickles chopped to serve

  • Olives without seeds as you like for decoration

 

How to cook

Marinate the beef with all those ingredients above, put in the fridge between 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Heat the cooking pan in medium heat and add olive oil, 2 tbsp of butter and crashed garlic and let garlic to be golden in color, do not burn it, add the marinated meat and keep the sauce a side.
Cook meat to your liking (rare, medium or well done), and take the meat out from the pan. Put it in the plate and reserve. 
Add the sauce into the pan and cook until the alcohol evaporates, the minced garlic soften and the sauce gets thicker.
Add the meat and combine it well with the sauce and if the sauce is dried or if you want more sauce add 150ml of water into it. Add minced pickles and cook it further for 1 minute. Add 1 tbsp of butter and mix well.
Your Pica-Pau is done!
Plate and decorate with the little bit of pickles and olives. Enjoy!
