Brussels Sprouts 🥦

This is a very simple and delicious side dish that goes well with a lot of warm meals. Instead of only boiling it I made with a spicy Sausages to add a lovely flavor, you can eat as a side dish for your roasted lunch or dinner, enjoy!

Cooking time 35 minutes

Serves 3 to 4 as a side dish

Ingredients

½ Kilo of Brussels Sprouts

2 diced spicy Sausages

3 cloves of minced Garlic

½ tsp of Dried Thyme, use fresh if you have it.

1 tbsp of Olive Oil

2 pinch of sweet Paprika

Enough water to boil the Brussels Sprouts around 2 Cups.

Salt and Black Pepper to your taste

How to make it

Prepare all ingredients above.

Clean the Brussels Sprouts with cold water very well. Into a pot add water, a little bit salt and sprouts then lid on, bring it to the gas on medium high heat, and let it boil. After it starts boiling cook it for 20 to 25 minutes or until all sprouts are cooked tender.

After cooked it keep ½ cup of Brussels Sprouts cooked water to use later. With a sieve drain the rest of the water and let it cool down a bit.

After it cools down, with a small knife just cut them into half's to absorb all spices in and set aside.

Next in a pan with medium high heat, add 1 tbsp of Olive Oil. When it gets slightly hot add 3 cloves of minced garlic and 2 diced spicy sausages, use other types if you like and fry it around a minute or 2. Now add Sprouts and mix well to combine. Let it fry for around 2 minutes.

Next add ½ teaspoon of Thyme and 2 pinches of sweet Paprika, mix well then and add the water from the cooked Brussels sprouts to make it juicy. Then mix well again to combine. Let water dry a bit for a minutes than taste. Then add a pinch of salt and pepper, add to your taste if need it. Mix well again to combine. Then you are done!

Transfer to serving bowl and enjoy hot as a side dish with your roasted dinner or lunch.
